01 What does MOQ mean?
MOQ stands for minimum order quantity. It is the smallest quantity a supplier will accept for a particular product or purchasing arrangement. An MOQ of 24 units means an order for 12 units would not meet that item's minimum unless an exception is agreed.
Minimums may be measured per SKU, per product line or per order. Always clarify which rule applies.
02 What is a case pack?
Case pack describes how many units are packed in one shipping or manufacturer case. An item with a case pack of six is normally supplied in boxes containing six individual units. A product could have a case pack of six and an MOQ of 24, implying four full cases.
Some suppliers sell only complete cases. Others allow mixed cases or individual units. Confirm whether your quoted quantity must be a multiple of the case pack.
03 Why the distinction matters to profit
A case-level price may differ from a single-unit wholesale price. Freight, storage and handling costs are also affected by the physical number and size of cartons. For bulky goods, an apparently affordable order can have a much higher delivered cost than expected.
Before approval, compare unit cost, case quantity, freight, sales fees and your realistic rate of sell-through.
04 Questions to ask before paying
Request the exact SKU, UPC or ASIN, MOQ, case pack, quoted price per unit, number of cases, shipping location, expected handling time and available documentation.
At Hernais Wholesale, product listings show MOQ and case pack when known. Final availability, invoice totals and shipping terms are confirmed with your order.
Frequently asked questions
If MOQ is 12 and case pack is 6, how many cases do I need?
Typically two complete cases, assuming the supplier requires full cases and both figures are measured in individual units.
Does a low MOQ mean lower overall cost?
Not necessarily. Compare freight, handling and the per-unit price at each quantity tier.
